I have a UltraFlex M47 13FT A21M steering cable on my boat. As I've posted before, I'd like to buy a shorter cable, but I only want the cable. Everything I've looked at so far are steering kits with the cable included.

I can find UltraFlex M47 searching the web, but nothing comes up for A21M. Does A21M have any meaning that has to do with which replacement cable I need?

If this is an old steering system it's quite possible the cables needed for it are no longer available and you'll have to change over to something newer.

Complete single steering systems aren't that expensive.
