Daiwa Fuego CT or Tatua CT for $30 more

Featured Replies

Before anyone says anything, i did search.

Main differences are the colors, TWS, and 2 bearings. Would love to hear feedback from people who have both.

Fuego for 53 shipped or Tatula for 83 shipped.

Plan on using it for my jig/worm rod. 8.1:1 for Flipping pitching and skipping. Does the TWS offer that big of an advantage when used in those situations. Also Daiwa has a promo for a free shirt and buff with the purchase of a tatula reel at the moment. Im leaning towards the tatula but at almost 50% off, the Fuego is a steal..

LMK. Thanks!

I'd probably get the fuego and spend the extra $30 on line, lures, and/or bearings. I do feel like the Tatula is a little better overall, but there's not a significant performance drop off, if any at all in certain applications.

I much prefer my Fuego to the Tatula I had. They feel the same even with the lack of the 2 extra bearings. And the T wing is just a gimmick. I have a 6' spinning rod for skipping baits.

LgMouthGambler has a thread on the Fuego CT on another site.  He did some work on his and seems to be thoroughly impressed with the reel.  TackleTour gave it a "Best Value" award.  My Fuegos are all the original models so I can't give any personal opinion of the new model.

Reel doesn't matter for flipping.  I don't have enough experience to comment on the pitching and skipping, but would assume the SV spool vs standard spool would have a lot more affect on those techniques than which reel you are using.

Where are these prices?

Ebay. Certain listings have 20% off with coupon code prep4sumer

Both good reels. I like may Tatula better. I do not agree that the TWS is a gimmick. I have a Tatula and cabelas arachnid that have it and I think it helps when casting on a windy day. Might not make as much difference for really experienced casters. But it’s not necessary so I would say find the reels somewhere and see which one feels better in your hand
