motorguide 2 or 3 blade prop?

Featured Replies

i just picked up a 54lb motorguide transom trolling motor that needs a prop. are the 2 or 3 blade props better. itll be used on my john boat and on the back of my 16ft tracker.

2 blade - more speed

3 blade - more cutting power

However, I believe that motor is designed to be run with the 3 blade machete

hmm, the lady on the phone from the marine place told me the 2 blade was for heavy weeds and the 3 blade for open water? the 2 blade will be faster than the 3 blade?

George is dead on.    3 blade is for vegitation.

That's why they called the 3-blade a machete prop. :)
