On Board Chargers

Featured Replies

I've been wanting to get a three bank charger to replace my two bank and I'm finally getting around to it. Anyone have a three bank charger? I'm trying to see what models are good to take a look at.

Thanks.

Brad

Hi,

I have a GUEST 2 bank charger (I only have 2 batteries) I keep it plugged in 24/7 365 when the boats not in the water. The charger is waterproof (i know this for a fact, My bilge pump fuse fell out one day in the rain and my boat filled up)...Charger?...no problem.  When and if this one dies or I get a newer boat with 3 batteries for sure it will be Guest 10 AMP 3 Bank charger.

Although I feel there are probably better chargers out there, the 3 Bank 5/5/5 XPS has held up well in my boat for almost 3 years now. It was on sale for $99 at BPS....regular I think they are $139.

one of my boats has a BPS 5/5/5 XPS xharger and its a good charger for the $$$

my other boat has a Promariner Pro Sport 20, 20 amps/3 banks

both have the ondemand feature that I like.  say batery  1needs more of a charge than battery 2 or 3 the charger will give battery 1 more amps till its even with the other two

i Like both, both made by promareiner, have no complants. both boats had the BPS 5/5/5, but one did fail  after 3 years. it was out of warranty, but BPS and Promariner stood behind the charger and replaced it with the promariner pro sport 20.

The bps  5/5/5 is 5 years old, and the Promariner is 2 years old. They stay plugged in 24/7 when the boats are no out, and keep the batteries in great contion.

I have a Dual-Pro three bank in my boat and so far it's doing fine. But I have only had it for 5 months so I don't know how long it will last.

Mine has lasted for almost 10 years, running 24/7/365.  If it ever quits you can bet another Dual Pro will replace it :)

Go to the Bass Pro site www.basspro.com and read the user evaluations of the various chargers.  Dual Pro wins.  Hands Down.  Based on that information, I bought a re-built unit from Dual Pro.

George Welcome is an icon in bass fishing circles.  I would not hesitate to purchase anything he recommends.

I have a frieng who deals in Guest chargers ... send me a PM and I will hook you up with him.  He'll answer all your questions.
