I have never owned a depth finder. I am considering a lowrance x96 portable for my 15ft jon boat.  Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks BB

    i don't know about the portable version, but I have the standard version on my boat and it is awesome. best graph for under 300 as far as I am concerned!

    I have this exact depth finder.  I am assuming you are going to get the suction cup transducer mount.  It is the same exact thing as the regular version.  Plenty of pixels and options.  The only problem I have ever seen is the suction cup comming off the boat every now and then.  But it only takes a couple of seconds to put it back on.

    I have the x96 and its great shows the bottom nicely great fish finder if too poor for a color finder like me!!!
