I would love to get my hands on one. Those are instant classics. 

The CMP is a great program. I bought a M1 Garand at the Talladega pro shop a while back. They are a nice gun and skeet range too.

@Sam, thanks for posting.  I thought that would never happen.

For me it was the easiest most reliable weapon I had.  If It didn’t weight a ton

it would be my everyday carry.

 

Proof that a “loose” pistol can be more reliable than current “tight” tolerance pistols.

I already have 2 of the old classic 1911's. An Ithaca (made in 1942) that my uncle carried during Viet Nam. And a Remington Rand (made in 1945) that another family member was issued many years ago.. Both are still in great condition.. And still fetch a nice collector's price. They both will belong to my son someday.
