Help me organize my arsenal

Featured Replies

Looking for a little help organizing or "designating" my combos for certain lures/presentations. Before I list my rigs, I wanted to mention that I just added the Gen4 Revo SX in 7.3:1 and, after a little research/debating, paired it up with the Abu Veritas in 7'6 MH. I was originally going to get the Veritas in 7'3 but when the local shop didn't have it in stock I settled for the 7'6 thinking the extra 3" wasn't really a big deal. Now even though I haven't taken it for a spin yet, I worry I may have made a mistake on settling as it could limit the things I can do with it. Thoughts on that? Anyways, here's what I have and a rough idea of how I could use them.

Revo SX 7.3:1 on 7'6 MH-F with 30-40lb braid (frogs, jigs, swimbaits, lipless cranks)

Abu ProMax 7.1:1 on 7' MH-F with 30-40lb braid (spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, swim jigs)

Old Cabela's Prodigy 6.1:1 on 7' M-Mod with ??lb Flouro (cranks, jerks, spinners?, texas, all-around)

Pflueger Spinning 5.2:1 on 7' ML-F with 30-40lb braid (plastics, top water, smaller hard baits)

At the end of the day I know I could just about use any of these rigs for whatever I want and still catch fish, I'm just looking to be a little more effective with the gear I have and hopefully learn some things along the way. Any thoughts, advice or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

I think you have designated these set ups correctly, but to answer your question you could really use them however you want. You’ve got a good base starting point on your setups, if you were going to add anything, I’d add a shorter casting rod. It may be easier to work too water baits and jerkbaits

Looks pretty good except I prefer  MH rod and fairly fast reel for Texas Rigs.  Basically  swap you lipless to your Texas setup, and your Texas to your lipless setup and you're pretty much dialed.
