Chatterbait trailers

Featured Replies

I have a few of the picasso aaron martens FX shock blade chatterbaits. These are the chatterbaits that are Fur and Feathers and not a rubber skirt. When I try to put my traditional rubber ChatterBait trailer on them it seems to push the feathers out all in an unnatural way. When you guys fish these, do you use a trailer? Or have you figured out one that works? Thank you all in advance! Tight lines

I haven't picked one of those up, but I'm interested in this thread since I was considering the feathers / hair as a different look

I have a couple of these but haven't fished them yet, so curious for responses as well.

Not exactly on topic, but maybe it will help.  I'm using Z-Man Elaztech Split Tail Trailerz on my traditional chatterbaits, and I have trouble getting the material over the bait keeper... Which got me thinking...

1.) I don't think a trailer is necessary on the Picasso FX shock blade.  It has a lot going on out of the package.  JMO.

2.) If you wanted to add something for a little extra color/flash the z-man split tail is very slender and may not get in the way of the buck tail/feather as much.

3.) Be careful of #2.  The elaztech has some weird chemical reactions with certain materials.

4.) I'm surprised if Aaron martens put his name on these, they aren't sporting a gamakatsu (I don't keep my packages, but I'm pretty sure it's a mustad)

Oh, the product of being stuck at work at 7pm on a Friday.

Have a good weekend!
