Steering link for Trolling Motor?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if they make a link that connects your outboard to an electric transom mounted trolling motor? I've seen steering links setup for a gas kicker motor but not for an electric trolling motor.

I'd like to mount a trolling motor next to my outboard on the back of a pontoon boat and be able to turn the trolling motor with the steering wheel.

Haven't seen one sold, but that should be fairly easy.  Any sort of device that attaches the tiller, to the steering arm of the motor shouldn't be hard to concoct.  Even a piece of aluminum rod, and a couple zip ties will get you.  You could put a bigfoot trolling motor switch at the console, you could control on/off from there.

That looks pretty neat. If they didn't cost $500 I would get one.   :'(

Depending on how handy you are you may be able to rig it up yourself using a cheap trolling motor.

I'll probably end up making one myself. I was hoping to either purchase an inexpensive steering link or get a a few ideas on making one.
