Minn Kota trolling motor question

Featured Replies

I was given an old Minn Kota 365 motor. I got it running just fine in forward and reverse and all the speeds work, but I am hearing some bearing noise that sounds like high pitched metallic. It is intermittent and changes if you hold the motor at different angles.

Is it worth while or even possible to crack open the motor section and lube the bearings? I have just been testing the motor out of the water just turn it on and then right off. It has not been used for quite a few years.

Any thoughts??
