New Lews Mach Crush Reels ?

Featured Replies

The new Lew's Mach Crush spinning & bait casting reels (ugly orange & black) are heavily advertised on fishing shows I watch - anybody seen or tried one ? ... If so , your thoughts ?

I have one each casting combo and spinning combo I love them both. Very smooth and can cast a long way with both of them.

Got the Dicks version spinning combo for 25% off. I thought it was a great deal. I have 6 spinning set ups and the crush rod is quite respectable, only my mojo worm rod is more sensitive.

The guides really seem to aid in casting and the reel is smooth and the drag does not stick.

I like the color, it goes well with the  lime green rod from the company who I know not to mention.

If I can get another for the price of the first I will be on it.

One other point I will make, Lews staff are awesome to chat with, I have honestly called them to ask one minor question and end up shooting the breeze for 10 minutes.

I like that, this is supposed to be fun and they get that.

    Regards, Russ

I don't own one, but used a friend's earlier this year. It casted well but sure didn't feel like a $160 reel. For that price, I think there are much better options. The Tournament MB comes to mind if you're set on Lews. I own one and it's a sweet little reel.

bought one for my 12 yr old daughter for Christmas. I'm surprised the shimano guys have not chimed about how much better their shimano stuff is
