Farm pond fishing in southwest Iowa

Featured Replies

This is probably an unusual request. I'm an avid bass fisherman, strictly catch and release, asking permission to fish farm ponds around southwest Iowa. I'm looking for a chance to catch a bigger bass than my PB of a little over six pounds. I just have a bass baby boat with an electric trolling motor. I would be careful to lock all gates and stay on any path to the pond from the main road. The only draw back is that I have a two wheel drive truck. If it would take a four wheel drive to get from the main road to the pond I couldn't do it. Any replies would be appreciated. Thank you.

In 1988 I caught an 8 something in a little pond just west of Riverton, Ia. on the north side of the road.

Sprocket I'm less than an hour from Riverton. That's a nice catch. Something I just can't find in the lakes around here.
