Anybody purchase a reconditioned trolling motor??

Featured Replies

Has anybody purchased a reconditioned trolling motor from Cabelas or another retailer?   Mostly I'm just curious if others have had good results going this route.

I was thinking about getting a reconditioned motore, but I can't find any stated warranty info on the cabelas website.  It also seems that the markdown is not consistent, maybe the greater markdowns are indications of greater wear and tear.

I own four transom mounted trolling motors and the only one I bought new was the first one.  I have picked up the other three at yard sales for next to nothing, and they all work great.  I can't say for certain, but I'm willing to bet a reconditioned motor will come with a short (very short) warranty.  Check your local classifieds, and online auctions and you may be pleasantly surprised.  Good Luck!
