Which size Missle D-bomb as a trailer?

Featured Replies

I have a question about a soft plastic trailer for 1/2 oz jigs or chatterbaits. I want to try out the Missle D-Bombs but can't decide which size is more fitting. The normal size is 4.5 inches and the baby size is a bit thinner and 3.5 inches. I am kind of leaning towards the baby for the size lures I will be using but I am interested in others opinions.

Thanks!

For 1/2 oz jig I use the normal sized D bomb, the baby I think is to small actuslly and doesn’t hang out the skirt as much and show off those flappers

I went up to the local Bass Pro at it really looks like the baby size is a better fit.

I use the baby on my 3/8oz jigs. I go up to 3/4oz for football jigs but the hook is roughly the same. The regular D bomb is just too big imho.

Fwiw I got away from using them as jig trailers at all and switched to rage craw / saw craw / Christie craw for flipping jigs. I always keep d bombs on hand for flipping Texas rigged though.
