Was thinking about heading to Smith Mountain Lake this weekend which I haven't fished in years.  Grew up in Roanoke but no real serious Bass fishing.  Would like to start fishing some tournaments there just not sure where to get started.  I will be launching at Parkway Marina below.

  

Way too many places to fish SML so get your map and stay within a two to three mile radius and you will do great.

 

Or, consider running around to places that look good.

 

If you can get a SML GMCO map you can see so many excellent places to drop a line.

Sam, Didn't make it out this weekend will try again next weekend.  It was too dang hot for me!  i know we have to get out there but I just cant handle the heat and humidity like I use too.  Thanks for the advice.

honestly. not that you cant catch fish, but you should just wait till after labor day when all the idiots are off the water there. plus it shouldnt be as hot
