Comparison: Daiwa rods (Tatula, Cronos, Steez XT)

Featured Replies

So right now I have the three of these rods brand new with tags and am wondering what to keep and what (if any) to send back.

Tatula 7' Medium Light Regular Casting (1/4-5/8) - (already have one of these that I use for jerkbaits/cranks with an SV103H but this is an extra)

Cronos 7' Medium Light Regular Casting (1/4-5/8)

Steez XT 7' Medium Regular Casting (1/8-1)

These rods all have great actions and seem a little faster than the "regular" rating.  What techniques would you use them for and what would you keep?  Thanks and best wishes on the water!

I got a tatula elite ags finess casting rod. It's an excellent rod. Its light, sensitive, and very balanced. The finish is nothing to write home about but I'm spoiled by dobyns rods. I got the tat to see if I'm missing anything being loyal to Gary. Turns out I'm not...

Ohh...  it came with a sweet perfectly fitting diawa rod glove as well.

I was looking at that cronos hard and I've had in my cart for awhile(Amazon). I know exactly what I'm gonna use it for Fluke and jerkbait.

The cronos and tatula blank should be very close to each other regarding to action and such so whatever cheaper and more comfortable to you. The only complaint I have over tatula is that aluminum reel seat lock nut hurt my finger when I hold my rod between my index and my middle fingers.

How about the Steez XT for spybaits and jerkbaits?
