I need to buy a boat from 12 to 16 in what type would be best for a 200 acre lake maybe not even that but i do want a deck on it. someone help me ;D :-/ :-

14 footer thru 16 footers Take your pic. Your choice should be base on what your plans for the boat are, And how you fish, alone with little gear or with a bud with most of the gear that BPS or Academy sells.

I like the 14's cause I fish alone 85 percent of the time. And I only tale out a small portion of my gear based on the fish species that I an targeting

I mostly bass fish and catfish but ill probablly have someone with me  80% of the time and should it be flat or v bottom

LOWES 1448 is what I use , if I had to do it over I would have got a 16 footer.

A wide, shallow walled, aluminum boat.

I like shallow walled boats because they don't become sails in the wind.

What boat brands to you have access to?

Sounds to me like you need a used bass boat. Something simple like in the picture below.  My first boat was a 16 foot 1986 Bass Tracker and I paid $3,500 about 9 years ago.  It had a fiberglass v-hull and an 80 horsepower engine that topped out at about 38 mph.  It was the perfect start up boat for me and it worked fine for club tournaments. It could even pull my nephew skiing. I just sold it last year. for $3,500.  

From my experience, when it comes to buying boats the best deals are usually found through private sellers instead of used boat dealerships.  I'd start by asking people if they know anyone who wants to sell a boat and looking in newspapers and such. If you do buy from a dealership HAGGLE! The price is always inflated.  If they're asking $4,000, offer $3,000.

If I were in your shoes I'd be looking for a jon boat 14' or longer and 48" or wider at the base. I've got a 14x36 that I put a small deck on. It's comfortable for 2 people to fish from seated, or just me standing.

If you both want to stand, wider is better.
