Remove the front bench from my 1436 Jon Boat

Featured Replies

All, I have a 14' 36 Jon and I really want to remove the front/bow bench to add decking. Because the boat is only 36 wide, I don't want to put a deck on top of the bench for stability. I want to cut down the front bench by half and put the deck on top. Anyone do this and fail or succeed? If you succeeded, how did ya do it? Thanks for your time.

check out the website myjonboat.com. they sell a manual that tells you how to do this the proper way. good luck anf dont forget to post the pics.

started too but, chickened out.

someone on here had a nice artical that explained the affects of it.
