Curado k making noise

Featured Replies

Should my Curado K be making this noise, it still feels smooth but the noise really bothers me. I have taken it to get cleaned professionally but it still makes the noise. I know it isn’t because I have to much line on because without line it still makes the noise. Although it does sound like the spool is making the noise. The noise started after a day I was skipping under docks and I had all my breaks on.

Hard to tell.  It kind of sounds like spool is out of round/wobbling and contacting the frame and scraping.  I've seen spool bearings spound like that too but not that loud.  It also sounds like their is some gear train noise in the background as well.  I'd send it in for diagnosis.  When you pull the spool do you see any marks on the spool lip?

Yeah there’s a little bit of scratches on the spool lip, I’ll probably end up sending it to shimano.

If you mean noise on the cast, open the cover and try oil on a Qtip rubbed around on the brass shaft on the cover against which the brakes rub on a cast.  If it is bone dry it will be noisy.
