Small, scenic smallie rivers in ny (help)

Hello everybody! I am thinking of going to the mountains of NY for the first time ever to fish (hopefully) some small, scenic river smallies. I'm from MD. Any area or river recommendations would be helpful (preferably scenic). Anything can help. I'm thinking of just going to lake Lila or the black or Grasse rivers since they are the only things I have seen that would appear to be good for kayak, bass fishing in the wilderness without the worry of motor boats. Kayakable rivers (should have mentioned that) , any help is appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day!
