Trolling motor lubrication???????

Featured Replies

I've asked this a couple of times but got no responses so I'll try this again.

I bought an older (1985) bass boat that has a Mariner 626RL trolling motor mounted on it.

I have two questions. How much thrust would this motor have and I really need to find out if this electric trolling motor needs to be lubricated. There is an allen screw on the bullet housing just behind the prop but when I unscrew it, I don't see or feel anything in there so I don't know what that screw is for but it's about the size of a zerk fitting so it makes me think it's for lubrication. If so, what kind of lubricant does it require?

Thanks in advance for any information.
