boat handling video

Featured Replies

I am planning on putting together a video this spring on how to drive your high performance boat. Proper set up, handling chine, navigating other wakes and some rough water video. At a very reasonable price Are people here interested? I have seen another but it really was a joke.

I'm interested.  I've often wondered why this type of instructional video is generally not offered.  Learning by trial-and-error sucks!

Well, you've got the right boat for the chine walking part.   ;D

Seriously,  if you want to shoot the rough water part, haul yourself West to Lake of the Ozarks this summer.  Pick any weekend but in particular, 4th of July or Labor day weekends.  Shoot your video running from the dam to the Grand Glaize bridge.  If you can handle that you can handle anything.

BTW, I'd suggest getting yourself a Champion or Storm boat to make that run, anything else will pound your vertebrae together into one fused mass.  ;)

Yeah my boat will chine like nuts when it's not set up properly. First time I went past 66 I thought all hell was breaking loose. Then I read and expierimented with the set up now I get very little if any. Believe me we have the rough water up here Lake Erie is like 25 to 30 minutes from my house and when I say rough water I mean 4+ footers. When I bought my boat I looked at all major brands and choose Triton because the are rugged, well organized and downright rockets. Rarely do I get wet in my boat. They handle rough water well and I get to see so many other brands as I fly past them.lol.  Seat time is important but so is the proper set-up. I just wish I had a video 7 years ago to get me started!

A video would be cool.  I am sure it will help me when I get my Ranger 185vs  ;D.

I have never been in a Ranger that chined really bad (they are on the heavy side) but they do handle the rough stuff well. My first fiberglass rig was a Ranger R-17.
