The last thing I need is more fishing equipment , but the Shimano SLX line of rods and reels caught my eye. I'm hoping to get an unbiased opinion of the SLX lineup. Does anyone own or has anyone tried the SLX rods or reels by Shimano ?

    Wish I could help, but unfortunately still waiting on the LH retrieves to become available. Ugh.

    I was hoping to check out the 7'2 h-f version soon. I think they are pretty honest guys who have their opinions and preferences towards certain brands but they also fish way more gear than I could ever afford so I take there viewpoint and check out if it fits my style.
