I'm working on my on boat conversion ( 12 footer ) and I'm ready for the trolling motor.

I don't know squat about trolling motors.  I want to mount it up front and I want a foot control.

Any opinions on these two.

This one would be easy to mount.  Is it possible to mount this one on the bow ??

This one.  Is the 'steer by wire' reliable ??  Most of the bow mounts need two much surface area, this one seems to have a small mount.

What kind of jon you have? Is it a V hull or flat bottom jon? If it is a flat bottom jon then this trolling motor would be the best buy since out of 43 reviews it recieved a 4.4 out of 5 and also it has a good thrust for a decent price.

I am thinking about upgrading my trolling motor on my jon but I have a transom mount. Mines a V hull, and I currently have an older model minn kota 27# thrust which for me ain't enough. I am thinking about getting a 40-50# thruster to really get around the lake.

I was just looking at WallyWorld.They had the 50 for around $220 and out of stock at That particular store  the 40 was around $170.Minkota's

I was thinking about upgrading my old 28 Minkota on my Crawdad.

I think the newer versions dont draw on the battery as hard,as the old ones.

It is a flat bottom.

I saw that trolling motor at Cabelas.  I need to see how it mounts.  Does minn kota make a quick release type mount ??  I would like to be able to remove the trolling motor for the days I'm hauling it in my truck.

Still looking for opinions on the 'wire control" models.
