Southeast flooding

Featured Replies

If you’re located anywhere around the Southeast, you know we have recently had severe flooding. I’m located in West TN and was told the water is still receding at Pickwick. I’m two years into this sport, so I’m still green and looking for advice.

I have a short vacation in two weeks. The initial plan was to haul the boat to Guntersville and fish for a day, then drop the boat and head on down to Florida. I just hate to drive my truck (gas mileage) and boat if the fishing is going to be terrible. Any idea what it may be like after this weather? To be completely honest, I’m not real sure how bad Gville got hit. Depending on water temp, the plan was to target secondary points and go from there. Also, if you have any good links to fishing reports down there, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help in advance. Also, if anyone local would ever like to meet up, I’d love to have some expert guidance on the big water.

Right now, it seems the main lake is moving and dirty.  There are areas that have cleared out, but its muddy for the most part.

I figured it would be. I wish I could post video I took of the dam when the water was at almost 400’. The bridge was vibrating. I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe it will have cleared up by the time I make it down to the big G.
