Small mouth Columbia SC

Featured Replies

First time poster here, I currently live on santee Cooper, but want to catch some small mouth, close to home.

Has anyone done any bank fishing for small mouth in the Columbia sc area, in the broad and saluda rivers? I heard of people catching them , I’m just not sure where to go try at. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, james

I just started getting into small mouth fishing around Columbia at the beginning of this summer. Ive been able to catch some in a few areas mostly on the Congaree. First spot is the river walk right under the West Columbia side of the Gervais st bridge. Plenty of bank access to wade in on the rocks or walk the bank. Next spot is Granby Park behind Carolinas baseball stadium. Some bank access but had most success walking out on the rocks. I have caught one nice smallmouth down behind the Zoo on the lower saluda while I was fishing for striper a few weeks ago
