im thinking of buying a pelican 8 ft. bass boat, real light and cheap easy to pick up..

anyone have one of these??

can it fit on top of a car??

I had some thing very similar to the pelican, depending on the size you get will depend whether it will fit on top of a car, I had a pickup and it fit into it perfectly. As for a motor, i had an electric trolling motor on mine and it worked great. If that is a problem you can use an oar.

I have the Pelican 10E. I won't say it can't be car topped with two people, but I'm fairly certain you can't do it alone. The 10E weighs about 150 lbs so getting it up there would be a bit of a challenge. It fit's perfectly in the bed of my pickup.

I use a 40 lb trolling motor on mine. I keep a paddle but only for an emergency or getting into the shallows or brush to retrieve a lure. Don't plan on paddling any distance. There is at least one make of similar boat (can't remember the one right now, sorry) that has arrangements for oarlocks, but the Pelican 10E has no such capability.

I also have the Pelican Raider 10E.  Use a 55# TM on it.  Love it..love it..love it!
