Featured Replies

So i just got a good deal on a 1983 Sears Vhull jon boat with trailer and 5 Hp outboard Johnson Sea King motor for $450.00 and was wondering what the weight limit or person limit would be on my boat? the original coast guard sticker on the inside is gone.

EDIT: Also what would be the highest rating horse power for this size boat? -Eddie

Anyone?

I also found out that my outboard motor is not a Johnson but a 1962 Montgomery Ward 5hp and is in good condition

I've got a 1965 Sears Semi-V hull. Looks alot like yours, mine is fiberglass though. Don't know a real weight limit, but I've had me at 230 and my buddy at 205 in it. Along with a 40 lb battery trolling motor, and other misc gear. Oh and it's decked. Runs fine, floats. Haha. Guy I bought it from said he used to have a 9.9 on it. Can help you there though.

Yeah my buddy is about to give me one of his old trolling motors this week so with that and the battery plus the outboard and 1 other person with all kinds of gear I wanted to make sure it would still float lol. Thanks for the info, I think next year I'm going to get a 9.9 hp for it as well.
