I'm looking at upgrading to a 112 Fortrex.  Was wandering from someone who has used one if the acceleration is "all at once" and will jerk you out of the boat, if it accelerates gradually when you hit the button.

I think if you start any trolling motor set on the highest speed it will jerk you around. Electric motors have instant   torque.

 

It ramps up to speed gradually, not instant on/off...But even with the ramp up, on high speed settings it's powerful enough to still jerk you around if you're not careful.  

It has a ramp up to speed, but its pretty quick. Even my 80# can throw you off balance if its turned up higher and the head is turned to one side or the other.
