I am looking at increasing the storage in my Monarch 14' aluminum boat. One of my thoughts is to cut through the bench seats and add storage compartments. Problem is, they are both filled with foam, which I assume is to help with floatation?? Can I remove some/all of that foam and will it affect my boats floatation.

The foam floatation is to hopefully keep your boat on the surface if it happens to capsize or fill with water. You remove the floation elements, what do you think would be the result?

i have tons of storage and tons of fishign room. i can fit 3 full tackle bags just in the front half.
