And can you put any type of deck on a 14 foot tracker john boat? If so how much of the boat can you deck and how high can it safely be?

Yes you can deck your jon boat, look around you should see some pics of decked jon boats on this forum. As far as how safe? depends on your balance. I have a tracker grizzly, and it has a small front deck buit into it. I've never had any problems and am probably going to extend the deck this winter
