SHIMANO Curado K vs Daiwa Tatula 150

Featured Replies

I am buying a new rod and a new reel. I don't have anything nice right now so I am wanting to spend around $250 for both combined. I am thinking a $100 rod and a $150 reel either the Shimano Curado K or Daiwa Tatula 150. Any recommendations between the two is greatly appreciated. A better reel for around the same price is also appreciated. American made is a plus also.

I would go with what feels comfortable in hand. I own a Tatula CT and a Curado K. Both of those reels feel good in hand, but fished with my buddies Lews Custom and it was like night and day. Smaller and more comfortable than those listed above. If you can go to a store and put them on a rod and see what feels better.
