Scored a 7.5HP Merc longshaft................

Featured Replies

Anyone know of its value? I scored it for free. Its a 1977 Mercury 7.5HP longshaft. I already have an Evinrude 8 HP. Anyone know how much I could get for this engine? Thanks.

I'm in WI.  If it's in really nice shape, 4-6 hundred avg.

After I clean it up and get it running it will be in nice shape. Thanks for the price range.

I had a 1988 Evinrude 2.5HP that sold for $350.

That engine was in mint condition. Too small to push my 14 footer though. Now I have an Evinrude 8 in excellent condition I scored for free (keeping that one), and now the Merc 7.5 for free (selling it).

Another pic of the 2.5

Let me know if you score any 50 or 60 hp mercs for free LOL

so you have an 8hp pushing your 14 footer now? how does it move? do you know the top speed. im assuming its a 14' flat bottom jon just like mine...

i ask becasue i just slapped a johnson 25hp long shaft on mine and it seems that i have way overpowered it and im curious to see how its gonna do... everyone who sees the boat thinks it looks rediculus, the guy i bought it from laughed when i told him what i was putting it on lol
