lunker city salad spoons

Featured Replies

Anyone ever try fishing these things. I saw them at wal-mart and they looked like they might be good for fishing the weeds. Anyone have experience with them, either good or bad?

The Salad Spoon is my favorite lure for fishing slop in the summertime.  I have caught more on these than on the spro frog in the same conditions.  The lure plops really nicely into the water, and the tail has a unique gurgle/slapping sound.  Steady retrieve it over pads or slop, or twitch it, jerk it, whatever.  Bass will blow up on it.  Use a large hook with a wide gap.

AvalonJohn is right, salad spoons are fantastic slop baits. I honestly think they're probably one of the most underrated slop baits of all time. You can retrieve them slower than a horny toad and they fall beautifully when you stop the retrieve. I'm glad not many other people use them
