An old college buddy and I have been planning on heading up to Maine to fish the Big Lake for smallies for a few years now.  Well, next week is the week we're supposed to go, and the reports are that it's been too cool this spring and they aren't biting yet.  Does anyone fish this area and have any advice about whether or not to make the 20 hour drive or to postpone it?

I was up at lake cobbosseecontee in Winthrop a couple weeks ago and had a great trip.   Caught lgmouth, smallies and pike.  Stayed at the lakeside lodge.  I highly recommend lakeside!!   Call them and ask for a fishing report.  They are awesome 

Fishing is really starting to pick up- fished the Tacoma Lakes a couple times some numbers in the smaller variety and a few 4-5lbers.  The weather will get warmer this week which should push some of the big girls shallow.  What is the Big Lake, Sebago?

Will you be on Big Lake in Washington County? Hope you have good numbers. I'll be in the same area the following week, with a college buddy no less!
