cap plate?

Featured Replies

This is just a question for they guys with newer boats. It all has to do with cap.plate. I know on my two older boats the cap. plate states a max hp. yesterday I was using my father-inlaws 2006 Tracker PTX 175 now in all the books for it and the web site is sayes max HP 75. well on the cap plate there is no max HP. there is a max weight of a outboard. It sayes "this boat is engineered to hold an outboard up to 390LBS max" .

What gives? does this mean you can run any hp as long as the weight is less than 390LBS?

not thae we are going to put abigger motor on it. It runs a 25hp, beacsue of the hp limited lake. just an obseravtion
