Deck mats??

Gents,

I have a Lund with a vinyl flooring  and was wounding if anyone knows or uses a pad to stand of to elevate some back and leg stress.  Was wondering if the commercial kitchen pads may be an option.  Thanks for any input, Al

Maybe keep a yoga mat in the boat? I’m going to redo my boat in deck it, which has some cushion compared to carpet. I don’t think I’ll miss carpet. Honestly good shoes help a lot. I never valued that, standing in crappy flip flops all the times, until I started having issues of course.

I just put down Hydroturf I my boat and I love it. It comes in various size sheets and has a 3M backing, so it is easy to install. It is soft and quietens down the boat. I fish barefoot now most of the time.

Did you put padding down first, or just hydroturf?

Just Hydroturf. I got the 5 mm. You can find thicker materials on line if you want something thicker, but I think that thickness is the standard for materials like Hydroturf, Seadek, etc. I bought 3 large sheets, cut them and did my whole boat.

If you only want something for where you stand, you can get a helm pad. I thought about a kitchen mat, but I’m not sure they would hold up to the elements.

There is a mat that is used in animal pens (I think) that farm and ranch stores sell.  I put hydro turf in my boat but I think these mats may have an application.....

An mat in an industrial/restaurant kitchen will, aside from UV, see far far more abuse then one on a boat.  There are a ton of options out there in various thickness, densities, and materials.
