Baitcaster Problem

Featured Replies

Well, I started analyzing my baitcasters and what I can do with them. Currently have 6 baitcasters and 1 spinning rod(content).

Only listing 5 because the 6th is my cranking rod and jerkbait which won’t change. If anything changes it might the reel.

Im looking at changing up my rods as the reels are sound in terms of techniques and my style. Mind you these rods cover multiple purposes because anything more than 7 is too much for me. Not listing my spinning set up because I’m confident that it will be fine.

Considering Dobyns, Megabass, ALX, Kistler for rods. Dobyns because they give a discount to veterans. I like Daiwa rods and tempted to stay with them, but looking to branch out to other rods that maybe better suited for my applications. Keep in mind my price range tops out at $350.

Tried a GLX and thought it was too stiff.

I guess the better question is, am I doing this right with pairing rods and reels to the techniques I have them specified for. Potentially willing to upgrade if there are better options avalyaibe.
