Looking for a certain type of spinnerbait...

Featured Replies

I much prefer spinnerbaits with a loop or twist in the wire where you tie or clip on. I do not like the type with the open bend as my line always ends up getting caught up in the blades. Can anyone recommend a brand with a 'hole' or twist at the tie on point. I like the mini-king by strike king, but they are only 1/8 oz, I want to find some 3/8 oz that are similar. Thanks in advance.

Hank Parkers you can get them at any Wal-Mart.

My Wal-Mart doesn't have those, wish it did. They look perfect.

Hmmm......never seen a Wal-Mart that didn't carry them.  However, those are pretty heavily produced spinnerbait.  I'm sure you wouldn't have to check many tackleshops before you found them.

I tried a Hank Parker spinnerbait and didn't care for it. It'll catch fish, but the wire didn't hold up and the blades got pitted. Not the quality of a $5 bait, in my opinion. SOB sells closed-looped baits. I've never used them, but they're very well spoken of by a number of fishermen whose opinions I respect.

The secret spinnerbait that my dad and I have been using for YEARS have been Bush Hog Spinnerbaits...for a while you couldn't get them...but they are back...

They have living rubber skirts, have the nicest action I have seen in spinnerbaits and the colors are basic but really effective.  I use the white, chartreuse, white/chartreuse, and chartreuse/lime which is really cool.

Hope this helps.  I really have tried all types of spinnerbaits and these, while very simple, are by far the most effective.
