Mud (dirt) daubers can ruin your fun and your engine!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Late in the afternoon on July 3 while I was taking the kids for a spin, my engine died.   >:o  I called my mechanic who was about to close for the weekend and convinced him to come out to take a look.  What he found was a mud dauber nest up against the fly wheel.  The nest, like concrete, had cut my belt so no alternator or fuel pump.

My mechanic advised that I check under the cowl once a month.  He also said that mud dauber nests can get sucked into the engine and act like sandpaper.

Just wanted to give a heads up to all my southern comrades in mud dauber territory.

Tom
