A 2004 Mercury 115 hp 2 stroke engine I'm interested in states that it is an EXLPTO. I've searched the Mercury site and the internet. I find a lot on EXLPTO but no description of what it means.

So I come to this board looking for the answer, what does EXLPTO stand for?

I think the xl is for the length of the lower unit (25 inches) extra long, but that's just a guess
