Douglas Lake bank fishing

Featured Replies

I don’t have a boat so I’m stuck on the banks of Douglas lake. Due to kids most of my time is spent in a cove right across for my house. The cove has a lil slate rock and mostly silty bottom with little to no cover especially as the lake goes down. At the point of the cove it’s very shallow but as you go out it winds up about 40ft deep. I should also mention I’m quite new to fishing and all I have is a spinning rod nothing fancy either.

My question is what lures would would you recommend? and maybe some tips as well. I know there are bass in the cove all day long as I see them constantly.... I just can’t get them to bite. Any help would be great as it’s quite frustrating knowing they are right there but not getting them. I’ve had some random hook ups but nothing I could call consistent that works. I know bank fishing a big lake like this can be hard but there has to be a way

thanks in advance
