Daiwa Legalis LT 2500 v 3000 spool

Featured Replies

I’m looking at the Daiwa Legalis 2500 or 3000 but I want a wider spool. Would the 3000 have a wider spool or just a deeper spool? I’ve heard a lot of positives about wider spooked spinning reels. Looking to stay with Daiwa if you have another reel that you know is a wider spool.

Thanks!

The spools appear to come in deep or shallow models, but here is the link to Daiwa's Legalis [LT] product page where you can see the legend they use in the model number and what each letter/number means... sort of like a vehicle VIN number.

I personally have always been a fan of the BG series [Black & Gold] and still use my original BG13 which is now around 35 years old. The other spinning reel I have is a Revros 2500 which I don't use often, but performs incredibly well.

All my other reels are Daiwa Tatula baitcasters CT-R, CT, 100H, 100HS, SV TWH, and the Cabela's [discontinued] Arachnid 5:3:1 which was made by Daiwa as a less expensive version of the Tatula

Best of luck in your decision ...
