Sun Dolphin Pro 120 - Recess Trolling Motor Pedal?

Featured Replies

Finally off the bank and onto the water.  First boat for me.. Sun Dolphin Pro 120.  I have put a MK Edge 45 on the front.  I have taken the chairs out as I prefer to stand and fish, so sitting and operating the pedal is not an option.   I know I need to practice it a bunch to get the hang of operating the pedal and keep my balance.  Has anyone been able to recess the pedal on this boat so it is more comfortable and easier to balance?  Or have you made another other mods that make it more comfortable to use a pedal standing on this boat?

Take the front seat out and get a taller pole with what’s called a butt seat. Basically you’re standing but just leaning against the butt seat for balance while you operate the foot pedal. Works great. Don’t have to hack up your boat that way.

Butt seat works great. You can buy one with a curve towards the rear that will help you have more leg room between the seat and the pedal. Fished out of one on ponds for many years

I have one in mine you would have to do the top deck over and would lose the middle compartment
