jon boat painting

Recommended Posts

should the factory paint be removed or can you just prime over it on a brand new boat?  Never touched water.  Just looking for a different look the green.

CLEAN- DULL- DRY :D The surface must be all three of these in order to achieve proper adhesion of any coating. Factory coatings are normally very hard and slick so scuffing the surface (DULL) would be most critical.

Some food for thought for you....

I had a jon boat back in the day and put roll on bedliner product on the bottom of it.  It really helped with scratches and dents.  You can get it in different colors, too and match the paint to it.
