Daiwa Tatula Elite Rods

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience with these rods? Im wondering if they are still a great rod for $200 without the AGS guides, or are the AGS guides worth the extra $100.

I've had AGS and Non-AGS versions of the Tatula Elite Rods. The biggest benefit, IMHO, was the slight weight reduction. AGS guides are very light, so the rods with those guides felt a little lighter. Was the rod THAT much more sensitive? No. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between bites on AGS Elites and Non AGS elites.

Do I think paying 100$ more for AGS guides is worth it on that particular rod model? Not at all. HOWEVER, some of the rods in the line up don't come with non-AGS guides so you don't have much of a choice.

Roger that, thanks. I was just wondering if the guides are worth a hard earned Benjamin.
