Anyone Fished Croft State Park?

Has anyone fished Croft State Park? If so, is there good fishing there? By good fishing I mean 4+ pound bass. It's about a 45 minute drive from where I live in Greer and I'd had to drive out there or lousy fishing.

It looks like both Lake Craig and Lake Johnson have a decent amount of bank access, but I was planning to rent a kayak as well. Looking at Google maps I assume you rent the kayaks at Lake Craig and it looks like there's a creek that connects to Lake Johnson, but on the map it doesn't look like you could paddle there.  I guess you would have to haul the kayak through the woods.

Anyway, any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know this post is over a month old, but if you are still seeking advice on Lake Craig I can help. I live on Lake Zimmerman aka “Zimmerman Pond” “Foster creek” a couple miles southwest of Lake Craig. I have heard of a few 9lb + bass being caught out of there near the dam. I wouldn’t recommend going unless you have a boat or access to one. I have always put a boat in there so I don’t know if they rent kayaks. Let me know what you plan on doing.

Thanks for the info. It may be worth giving it a try. They do have boat and kayak rentals so that will make it easier.

I've fished Robinson, Berry Shoals Pond, and Cooley and the fishing has been lousy from the banks although I have rented a kayak at Cooley.

This weekend I'm heading back to the SC Lowcountry to fish in my favorites spots. I'll let you know if I head out to Croft anytime soon. Maybe we can meet up and fish for a few hours. Thanks again,
