is it better to charge with a 2 amp charge or a 10 amp charge for a 12volt battery and how long will it take with both

    It really depends on the charger. Is it going to step down when the batteries are at a set point or is it going to shut off. How long are you letting the batteries set before using. What kind of charger is it?

    they set for like 2 hrs almost dead. then i put them back on and its a schumacher 12 v charget.

    That Schumacher should be OK to charge at 10 amps when your using the boat every few days and if it sets for weeks or more I would leave it the 2amp.
