Best Canal and Shoreline fishing in Orlando,Fl

Featured Replies

Looking for someone who can tell me where the best Canal and shoreline fishing is the city of Orlando Florida with a neighboring community. I have no boat or access to one so I have to walk. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated it thank you

Tell me the general area you are looking to fish. A city or neighborhood name is good. "Around Hunter's Creek" or "east Maitland" is enough. I'll look at a map and let you know what your likely best options are. I've been beating the banks around Orlando for years and have been on most lakes and ponds you can fish from shore. I will tell you what should be good based on what I know; however, there is no way that I am going to tell some random person on the Internet the bank spots I fish myself. Not trying to be a jerk, but there are a lot of bank beaters in central FL with terrible manners (leaving trash, taking fish, being rude to locals, parking on the grass, etc.) that have ruined good banks spots for me so I don't share anything I care about.

If you want to look for yourself I highly recommend using the street view feature in Google maps to check for fences and obvious trespassing signs before you get too interested in something. FL loves its private property, trespassing signs, and fences.

South Orlando Michigan St to County line area.

The first two things I see in that area are that most of the lakes are inaccessible from shore or surrounded by private property. Which now that I am thinking about it are why I don't bother to fish down there. However, there are a few places that are good if you want to fish. Two easy to get to places that I have caught plenty of fish at before.

Lake behind Ikea is too young to have big fish but there are numbers so the fishing was good the last time I was there. Basically it is bare shore except on the east shore - https://goo.gl/maps/95G2sa8z9jhHU47L7

Lake next to Mall at Millenia has numbers and big fish since it is old. The mall is marked as no fishing but I  ignore it. Friend caught an 8 plus post spawn female there a few years back on a white spinner bait. Freaking jerk :) The issue is finding them since it is so big - https://goo.gl/maps/r7eN5K25NfttZk4A9

I have not fished this canal, but a friend said he went there a lot when he was working at the Convention Center - https://goo.gl/maps/HLugsQvw5n1MYLGa6

Hope this helps.
