MB Destroyer Otomat for Cranking?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a strong opinion (or experience with) the Megabass Destroyer Otomat serving as a cranking rod?

Personally I don't like it as a cranking rod. Everything is personal preference though. Seems to fast of taper to me.

That’s the sense I’m getting from reading.   I’m wondering how the javelin would do for cranking.

I recently used it to throw a DT6 and Rock Crawler 50 and it handled them excellently. The rod loads deep into the blank when pressure is applied. Definitely could see how some would think its too stiff in the tip, but when a fish hooks up it’s got a nice deep flex that will keep them pinned. Just my opinion but I think it’s a valid option for cranks within its lure rating.
